PAIA Manual
Last updated: July 2026
This manual is published in terms of section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (PAIA), to help members of the public understand what records Sortly’s operating entity holds and how to request access to them.

Requests under this manual should be directed to the Information Officer, contactable at info@sortly.co.za.
3. How to use this manual and PAIA
A general guide on how to use PAIA, published as required by section 10 of the Act, is available from the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.
4. Records available without a request
Some records are freely available without needing to submit a formal request, including:
- The content published on sortly.co.za, including our Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, and Cookie Policy;
- This PAIA manual.
5. Categories of records held
Subject to any applicable grounds for refusal under PAIA, Sortly may hold records in the following categories:
- Consumer engagement records, including consent and opt-out logs collected through WhatsApp or web-based engagements;
- Enquiries submitted through this website’s contact form;
- Standard corporate, financial, and compliance records relating to the operation of the business.
Some of these records may be personal information relating to you specifically. Where that’s the case, our Privacy Policy explains how to request access to your own information directly, which is often quicker than a formal PAIA request.
6. How to submit a request
Requests for access to records should be made in writing, using the prescribed PAIA request form, and sent to info@sortly.co.za. Please describe the record you’re looking for with enough detail for us to locate it, and provide your contact details so we can respond. A prescribed fee may apply, as set out in the PAIA regulations.
7. Availability of this manual
This manual is available on this page at all times, free of charge.
